Lt. Dan Choi came out publicly as gay on the Rachel Maddow Show and received a discharge notification shortly after his appearance.  Since then, he has been advocating for the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.  Lt. Dan Choi is an Arabic translator, which is a highly needed and understaffed profession in the military.  It was reported by bilerico.com that he was called back to active duty.  The Obama administration has been working with the military on the best course to take to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.  It’s not known what this means regarding the military’s future position on discharging gay and lesbian soldiers or if they will continue with Lt. Dan Choi’s discharge.
